Projecting Older People Population Information system (www.poppi.org.uk). Modelled estimates of health and care needs projected into the future.
Prevalence estimates for different age groups for men and women separately are applied to the population structure of each local authority to derive the numbers of people living in that local authority in particular circumstances (e.g. living alone, who are unpaid carers, etc) or who have specific care or medical needs (e.g. have problems with domestic tasks or self-care, who have diabetes, who have visual impairment, etc). As only age and gender are taken into consideration in their modelling, it is likely that this will represent an underestimate of the count for Hull for many conditions were there is an increased prevalence among high levels of deprivation.
Also see Projecting Adult Needs and Service Information System which is similar but for those aged under 65 years, although the indicators do differ between PANSI and POPPI.
